How we check it’s really you
- An email at your church’s own domain
- Immediate. Signing in already proves you receive mail at that address, so if it’s at the domain on the listing, there’s nothing further to prove. A personal Gmail or Yahoo address never counts, whatever the church has listed — otherwise every listing on a free address would belong to whoever asked first.
- A call to the number on the listing
- We ring the number already published for the church and confirm with whoever answers. Usually a couple of days.
- Something public that names you
- A staff page, a bulletin, a denominational directory. Read by a person.
Claiming a listing does not mark its details as confirmed. That is a separate, deliberate step you take once you’ve read them — which is why a “verified” badge here means a person at the church actually stood behind the details, and not merely that someone signed up.
